Professor Zhang Guoan was born in LinChuan, Jiangxi. He graduated from the National University of Defense Science and Technology with a Master’s degree in 1988. In 2006, he was a visiting scholar in the computer department of Tsinghua University.

Zhang has successively worked in several aerospace institutes, including Jiangxi Furnace Research Institute and Jiujiang Vocational Technical College. He has been engaged in the research of weapon systems and the computer-aided design of the industrial furnace. As a designer, he participated in three model developments, one of which won the special-class award of National Science and Technology Progress.

Zhang’s main research direction and fields of interest are computer science and technology, the embedded system, graphics processing, and industrial control. He has published more than 30 papers and edited and published two textbooks. He has also directed and completed one provincial higher educational reform project. His electronic book was collected at super star digital library, China digital library demonstration project (No. 2005616). One paper was included in China national report of defense in science and technology (GF72235). Two presided projects in 2004 were identified as Jiangxi provincial key new achievements. He directed and completed one natural science foundation in Fujian province and participated in one key provincial project.
