Admission Brochure of Fujian University of Technology (FJUT) For “Chinese Government Scholarship – Cooperative Program with Its Provinces and Autonomous Regions”

“Chinese Government Scholarship – Cooperative Program with Its Provinces and Autonomous Regions” is a full scholarship set up by the Ministry of Education aiming to support scholarships for international students established by local education departments in specific provinces or autonomous regions.

Fujian University of Technology begins to accept applications for full-time Master degree studies under “Chinese Government Scholarship – Cooperative Program with Its Provinces and Autonomous Regions”. The details are as follows:

1. Language of Instruction

Language of Instruction: Scholarship recipients of Chinese-taught programs without adequate Chinese proficiency must take Chinese language training courses for one year so as to fulfill the language requirements of their host universities prior to majoring in their specialty.

Duration of the Scholarship: The duration of the scholarship will be limited to the student’s admission to the university, and will not be extended in principle.

Scholarship winners after entrance into China will be managed according to the relevant regulations of Chinese Government.

Students are not permitted, in general, to apply to change their specialties, their host universities or the duration of study as specified in the Admission Letter once they agree to accept the scholarship.

2. Application Receiving Agency and Deadline

Applicants should apply for the scholarship to the International Exchange Office of Fujian University of Technology before March 31.

3. Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.

-Applicants must NOT be already-registered students in Chinese universities at the time of application or graduated from Chinese universities for less than one year.

-Applicants for master's degree studies must have bachelor's degrees and be under the age of 35.

-Applicants should not be beneficiaries of any other scholarships.

-Applicants should have a competitive academic record.

4. Scholarship Coverage

-Exempt from tuition, and on-campus accommodation.

-Monthly living allowance.

-Medical Insurance.

5. Application Documents (in duplicate)

Applicants shall fill in and submit application materials via the CSC Online Application System for Study in China. The online application system can be found at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn, and the institutional code of our university is 10388. Application materials are as follows:

-The Specified Scholarship Application Formin Chinese or in English)

-Certificates of Highest Education (Notarized One)

-Physical Examination Record for Foreigner. The form designed by the Chinese quarantine authority can be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihuaor http://www.campuschina.org). The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

-Certificate of Awards

-Recent Standard Photos for Passport with White Background

-The Study Plan (for Postgraduate Applicants)

-Passport Home Page

-Articles or Papers Written or Published (for Postgraduate Applicants)

-Two Recommendation Letters as Requiredby at least Associate

Professors

-Transcripts of Highest Education (Notarized Copy)

-HSK4 or above Certificate (those who do not have HSK4 or above shall study one-year Chinese language and get HSK4 certificate before starting the major).If the applicant does not pass it within one year, the scholarship will be suspended.

-Notary Marriage Certificate (those married must provide)

-Notary Certificate of No Criminal Convictions

 

-All required documents must be clear e-copies of the original documents. Each set of the complete materials should not exceed 20 pages. Please use DIN A4.

-Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

 -The scanned copy of the above documents should be sent to the mailbox fjutio@fjut.edu.cnbefore March 31 by the applicant.

6. Admission and Notification

Application materials will be reviewed by China Scholarship Council (CSC) and be signed and issued Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201)

CSC will send, before the 31stof July, the List of Scholarship Winners, Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201)to the department in charge of enrollment, who will forward these documents to various universities in China, and then each university will inform the scholarship winners.

7. Enrollment

Students who have won scholarship must register on time based on admission notice and go through the Annual Review of the Chinese Government Scholarship Status.

Scholarship for International Students in FJUT

In the interest of promoting the scheme ‘Study in China’ held by the Ministry of Education, as well as attracting international students, FJUT is to establish its own scholarship scheme. Details are as follows:

Ⅰ. Eligibility

Applicants shall meet the entry requirements of international students.

Ⅲ. Details of Scholarship

Students will receive exemption from tuition, registration fee, on-campus accommodation and living allowance, which is 1200 per person for undergraduates and 1500 per person for postgraduates per month.

Ⅳ. Duration of Study

If applicants’ Chinese fail to meet the major requirement, they shall complete one-year Chinese language class and pass the test before starting their major. If they fail to pass with one year, their scholarship will be suspended.

 Usually the duration of undergraduates study is 4-5 years (depend on different programs) and the duration of graduates is 3 years. The duration of scholarship will be decided by the duration of different program (which will not be extended).

Note: Students who receive Chinese Government Scholarship or other subsidies shall not be eligible to apply scholarship from FJUT.
